The Crime of the Congo

Arthur Conan Doyle (1859 - 1930) was an English writer best known for his detective stories about Sherlock Holmes. "The Crime of the Congo" is a book intended to expose the situation of serious human rights abuses in the Congo Free State, persohal property of the King of the Belgians, Leopold II. This exposure includes many cases of violations, including a serious excess of authority, slavery, and tortures.
