Joseph Thomas Sheridan Le Fanu was an Irish writer of Gothic novels, one of the most influential ghost story writers of the nineteenth century. "Dickon the Devil" is an early work by the author. It was originally published in 1872. It is a part of "Ghostly Tales" — the most extensive collection of the author's works, containing eleven atmospheric and supernatural stories.
